I feel like sharing with you one of the messages the lord gave for Easter. Though is far past, but it may bles you somehow
THEME: “WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR MESSAGE?”(Isaiah 53:1NLT)
Text : Isaiah 53
Watching “The Passion of the Christ” few days ago, one can’t help but to think again of all that the Lord Jesus Christ suffer for the redemption man, even as He stated in John 10:1, He laid down His out His own volition, So He was beaten, humiliated and eventually hanged on the cross for the sake of you and I. Painfully enough, he is still rejected by same man that He suffered for.
In Isaiah 53, the prophet speaking under the influence of the spirit of God talked about this same suffering that Jesus Christ went through and yet did not complain but remained humble even unto death (Phil.2:5-10). Prophet Isaiah started with a very pertinent question; “who has believed our message?”
1. THEY DID NOT BELIEVE HIS MESSAGE: Because there was nothing in Him that should attract people to him, he was not born to an earthly royal family, He grew up as an ordinary child of an ordinary parents (the father was a mere carpenter by trade), there was nothing significantly unusual with his appearance and actions that people should consider Him as their messiah.
2. SO HE WAS REJECTED: He was despised and rejected, people hid their faces from him, they avoided him and as one who was always suffering. yet he suffered all these rejection because of man that he came the way He did.
3. IT WAS FOR OUR SAKE THAT HE CAME IN THE MANNER THAT HE DID: Though rejected by all, But Jesus came for one main reason which is to deal sin problem of man, He was not rejected in heaven, there were no misunderstanding among the Trinity (God the father, God the son and the Holy spirit), there were and are still in perfect harmony, But Jesus Humble himself and took the form of ordinary man in order identify with man in his fallen state, He left all the glory in heaven to suffer for us, and because He did this he has been given a name that is above every other names that at mention of his name every knee should bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord (Philippians 2:5-11) .
4. KNOWING WHO HE WAS: he did not opened his mouth, neither did he utter any word to express his resentment, but bravely in absolute humility prayed that the father might forgive them for they knew not what they were doing (Luke 23:34), because He knew who sent Him, who sustains him and who will ultimately reward him. WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND UNDERSTAND YOUR PURPOSE, YOU ARE NEVER AT THE MERCY OF SOMEBODY’S OPINION. People will always fight what they don’t understand. Daniel was accused of breaking the laws because he prayed, Joseph was accused of raping his master’s wife, and Paul was accused of causing riot. This are all part of reaching our destiny, is not it? It is part what we signed up for, persecution from people is way of showing us how much the lord has deposited in us and devil can’t just ignore us. In every opposition there is divine positioning WATCH OUT FOR IT.
5. PEOPLE OPINION COULD NOT CHANGE HIS MISSION: Jesus knew why he came and remained focused on that which he came for, though people had varied opinion about Him and was called all sorts of name, He did not go about begging people to believe him, He knew that integrity is not proven but discerned, so instead of wasting time on his critics, he stayed focused on his goals. Stay focused no matter what people say about you or your vision. When He was accused of being possessed with devil, Jesus never mind them, but He just went about casting out demons. As we celebrate Easter and recounting on the Lord sufferings for us and the blessing he has left for us as an inheritance and the hope of eternal life with, May I suggest that just as Jesus remained focused, that you remain focused on your goals in life with eternity as your ultimate goal.
Though he was rejected in the cause of His earthly ministry, but on the cross, when men saw the spectacular way that he died they confessed that truly he was the son of God (Matthew 27:54) You may be doubted today by all around you and may close their doors against you, but if you eventually overcome which are won't to do in Jesus name, they will believe you. Insist on what you have been called to do strive not to impress man, but your heavenly father. Jesus never tried to look good, He just went about doing good (Acts 10:38), He did strive for reputation but demonstrated character.
My earnest prayer for you in this season is that because He resurrected, though he was dead, that every seemingly dead things in your life, ministry, career family the lord will cause them to resurrect in Jesus name. That you have a renewed understanding that death is not the ultimate, but that resurrection is and may live a resurrected life daily.
